Singer/songwriter and blind activist Lachi returns with her new single "Black Girl Cornrows" featuring drag superstar Yvie Oddly and fellow blind artist QuestionATL. Produced with NYC-based DJ duo Black Caviar, "Black Girl Cornrows" embodies the power of self-confidence and authenticity on top of smooth house rhythms.
With the infectious single, Lachi is celebrating "my declaration as a Black, blind artist. The track discusses how empowering the act of self-description can be." Being legally blind, Lachi advocates for Disability Culture as well as inclusion and accessibility in the music and entertainment industries. Beyond using it to help blind folks understand a person's looks, "Black Girl Cornrows" is an avenue for self-expression, identifying one’s race, gender identity, and vibe-identity, which within seconds can bring to light who you are and what you stand for.
